Montavilla Brew Works was recently included in the Willamette Week list of Portland’s best IPAs. It’s a great neighborhood hangout with an excellent selection of microbrews and I’m proud to have my work on display there.
I worked with owner and brew master Michael Kora to design the bar tops and cabinets before the brewery opened last summer, and built all of the pieces in my Portland shop.
Most of the material came from the same tree, harvested by Zena Forest Co, near Salem, Oregon, milled and kiln dried on site. We chose Western Big Leaf Maple, stained dark for the main bar top and left the natural, lighter color for the elbow bar.
