Live Edge Table
I enjoy the challenge of designing something new.
I recently designed an outdoor dining table for a family in my neighborhood. They came to me with an idea from a catalog and we worked together to come up with a design that would work for their space. They wanted a large table for entertaining and we agreed on a beautiful live-edge design. But this table would be heavy and could be hard to transport and move through doorways. So I came up with a design that uses interlocking traditional joinery to make it easy to take apart and reassemble.
Incorporating dovetails, bowtie keys, through mortises and tenons, and locking wedges, the result is this trestle table with a live edge slab top, all sourced from local Portland businesses.
