Cajón by Mimy Designs
As a touring percussionist, I've been frustrated trying to travel with a cajón. They're bulky! There are some foldable cajóns on the market, but I couldn't find any that looked nice. So, I decided to build my own.
This foldable cajón is the merging of my woodworking and music passions. Built of beautiful solid wood, this cajón features guitar string snares. It's held together by knobs, so no tools are needed.
I've taken this cajón on several trips now and am so pleased with how easy it is to carry on the plane, and how great it sounds! The eye-catching design inspires lots of questions during audience Q&A sessions.
I found a great shop in Hood River, Oregon called Northwave Sails that was excited to make a custom case with backpack straps to protect the cajón and make it travel ready.
Let's talk about the ideal size foldable cajón for your needs.
